The list of TVS bike models in the country comprises 7 commuter bikes, 6 sports bikes, 7 scooter. These consist of 4 TVS upcoming bikes and 20 new TVS bikes in India. TVS’ line of products in India includes scooters, motorcycles, mopeds and three-wheelers. In the scooter segment, TVS offers a number of models including the very popular Jupiter. Other than Victor nameplate, Apache series has also been popular among customers. TVS Victor was a runaway success and continues to be a popular model in TVS’range of products. Apart from pioneering moped production, TVS was the first two-wheeler company to develop India’s first fully indigenous motorcycle-Victor. The collaboration between the Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer and Japan’s auto giant came to an end in 2001 and the company was rechristened TVS Motor. TVS-Suzuki together produced various popular models such as Samurai, Shogun and Suzuki Fiero. Two years later in 1982, TVS entered a joint-venture with Japan based Suzuki Motor Corporation seeking technical symbioses. TVS’ Hosur manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu was set up in 1978 to produce mopeds and in 1980, it started manufacturing India’s first two seater moped-TVS 50 under its new division Sundaram Clayton. TVS forayed into automobile sector in late 1950s and started manufacturing two-wheelers, tyres and components. Founded in 1978, the Chennai based TVS Motor Company Limited is a part of TVS Group founded by T.V Sundaram Iyengar.
